As we’re nearing the end of 2023, we realize what an excitingly hectic year this has been for the world of data privacy and web accessibility. Only within the United States the data privacy landscape expanded to fourteen consumer privacy laws passed and either already effective or set to become effective within the next 2 years. Web accessibility lawsuits have also seen an increase as individuals with disabilities have started asking for easy access to business’ websites.
In line with our commitment to our customers, Clym has worked diligently throughout 2023 to monitor the landscape, to integrate data privacy requirements within our compliance tool, and to provide instructional content that helps simplify what it means to be compliant with the various data privacy laws around the world. In addition to this, we have launched Accessibility within our compliance tool to facilitate compliance for our customers with web accessibility regulations currently in place.
We are happy to say that going forward into 2024, we are prepared to help customers with their compliance needs. Ahead of January 1, 2024, you can read overview pages for 40+ data privacy laws around the world, all of which are either already included or will be included in our compliance widget ahead of their effective date, and can find within our accessibility solution six preconfigured accessibility profiles, as well as 25+ display adjustments that allow visitors to customize their individual experience.
Last but not least, Clym's compliance widget is registered as a participant in the Transparency and Consent Framework 2.2 (TCF 2.2) introduced by the IAB. This means that the Clym widget, which adheres to the TCF Policies, allows users to make informed decisions about their data. It provides clear information on the purposes of data collection and the companies that websites work with, and also offers the option to accept or reject data processing. All user choices are saved in a "TC String" to ensure that they are communicated to the companies responsible for processing their data.
